Using the Portal
My Glass Cookbook provides educational references, links, videos, catalog information, community profiles, and studio-planning tools for glass artists. The Portal is offered as a practical reference, not as professional, engineering, safety, legal, or manufacturer-specific advice.
Use your own judgment, follow manufacturer instructions, and test schedules and materials in your own kiln and studio conditions before relying on them for finished work.
AI and generated content
Some current or previous public visuals on My Glass Cookbook, including certain illustrations, icons, educational graphics, and branding elements, were created using generative AI tools. MGC is replacing or reducing those AI generated visual assets in response to community feedback.
AI assisted tools may be used internally for development, drafting, debugging, testing, documentation, research organization, and design exploration. That does not make the live Portal an AI product.
The live Portal does not currently use OpenAI, Anthropic, Gemini, or other large language model providers to process visitor searches, user activity, kiln schedules, saved resources, project information, or browsing behavior.
What MGC does not do
My Glass Cookbook does not train AI using artist artwork, submit artist work or project information to AI companies for training, generate artwork or glass designs for users, act as an AI chatbot or recommendation engine, sell personal information, or claim ownership of artwork, project information, or content submitted by artists.
User submissions
If you submit a resource, correction, community listing, partnership note, or other message, you are responsible for making sure you have the right to share the information you provide. By submitting it, you give MGC permission to review it, respond when appropriate, and use it to improve or maintain the Portal.
Submitting a resource or correction does not guarantee that MGC will publish it. MGC may edit, decline, remove, or update submitted information for accuracy, safety, clarity, relevance, or editorial fit.
Your work and project information
You keep ownership of your artwork, project information, kiln notes, schedules, photos, and other creative work. Neither My Glass Cookbook nor its tools claim ownership of artwork, project information, or content submitted by artists.
The current Portal does not send user searches, browsing activity, saved resources, project information, or Kiln Schedule Designer data to AI providers for processing or model training. If AI related functionality is introduced in the future, MGC will update its disclosures before implementing it.
Kiln Schedule Designer and studio tools
The Kiln Schedule Designer is not an AI tool. It uses structured inputs, calculations, schedules, presets, and manufacturer published reference information to help artists produce firing schedules.
Schedules and tool outputs are starting points for review, not guarantees. Kilns, glass, thickness, mold setup, firing history, and studio conditions vary. Always compare tool outputs with manufacturer guidance, your own experience, and appropriate safety practices before programming a kiln.
Third-party services and links
The Portal uses service providers such as Netlify for hosting and form processing, Plausible Analytics for privacy-focused analytics, and local browser storage for saved resources and display preferences. The Portal also links to manufacturer, educator, supplier, community, and video websites that MGC does not control.
External sites have their own terms, privacy practices, prices, product information, and safety guidance. MGC is not responsible for third-party websites or services.
Accounts, payments, and personal information
The Portal does not currently require visitor accounts or logins. MGC collects only limited information needed to operate the site, such as voluntary newsletter signups, resource submissions, contact requests, and privacy-focused usage analytics. MGC does not sell personal information.

Changes to these terms
MGC may update these terms as the Portal and related tools change. If MGC introduces AI related functionality that processes user-entered project data, the relevant disclosures will be updated before that functionality is implemented.
