In 2024, The Paul Wissmach Glass Company celebrated 120 years of continuous glass production! We have been making glass for artists and designers all over the world for over a century.

Wissmach Glass currently produces Art Glass Sheet, Dalle de Verre, COE 96 Kiln Sheet Glass, Frit, and Powders, COE 96 Furnace and Casting Cullet, and COE 96 Casting Billets. We’re working on developing new colors and new products all the time, so keep an eye out for announcements. Folks subscribed to our email list are always first to learn about Wissmach news.

Wissmach Art Glass is ideal for Stained Glass, Mosaic, and Architectural Glass applications. It is suitable for cold processes and not tested for compatibility. It comes in an array of colors, textures, and levels of transparency. It is also available with an iridescent coating.

Wissmach Kiln Glass has a coefficient of expansion of 96 and has been tested for compatibility. It comes in various colors, textures, and levels of transparency. It is also available with a luminescent coating. COE 96 frit and powder is widely available in various colors from your favorite distributor.

Wissmach Cullet has long work times, excellent clarity, and are both compatible with COE 96 Kiln Glass products creating an incredible range of colors to work with.

Ever wonder how Wissmach develops its distinct palette of colors? Recipes over a century old of chemicals and compounds mix with limestone, soda ash, and sand and then are heated to 2,200°F (1,200°C) using natural gas in one of Wissmach’s 13 fire brick furnaces. Unique blends of 2 to 3 colors with varying degrees of transparency are mixed by hand before being rolled out and annealed.

Wissmach Glass has been American-made in Paden City, West Virginia, since 1904.
